Week 1 Rankings – Fantasy Football 2018

There is no more difficult week to predict than week 1. Some wild stuff is most likely going to happen, but if I can give you any advice, it’s do not over react! My basic rule in week 1 is to start your studs, you drafted them for a reason!

With that said if you need a bold flex play or landed some extra talent you weren’t expecting to land, let’s look at who the top guys should be for the first week of the 2018 NFL season. .. ohhh that felt good to say!

——————–QUARTER BACKS——————–

Cam comes out swinging against the Cowboys and their weak secondary in week 1! Funchess, McCaffrey, and Olsen may all get a TD from the mobile QB this weekend. Drew Bress, Kirk Cousins, and Big Ben also get off to hot starts in 2018. Tyrod holds his own against the Steelers in a game Pittsburgh wins pretty close, Marcus Mariota shows off a bit of that new offense having good days to Walker, Davis and his RBs. I think Andy Dalton finishes as a QB1 against a weak Indy defense with a healthy A.J. Green, John Ross, and Tyler Effiert.

——————–RUNNING BACKS——————–

I think this week James Conner is a sneaky RB1 with Le’Veon Bell likely to miss week 1. I like Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, and David Johnson to come out looking like absolute studs for the season. And for my money Royce Freeman is the rookie RB that takes off out of the gate while Barkley is given a less than favorable match up against Jacksonville, but don’t worry, he will catch back up.

——————-WIDE RECEIVERS——————-

Guys that are going to get off to a hot start in 2018 are Michael Thomas, Keenan Allen, and A.J. Green! I think Odell fresh off of a new paycheck has a solid day against that tough Jacksonville secondary, but not quite a top 10 day. Jarvis Landry is Tyrod’s go to guy against the Steelers and Devin Funchess is still the guy Cam is looking for in the Red Zone. Both have a decent day yardage wise with a TD to go with it.

——————–TIGHT ENDS——————–

Gronk makes it clear from New England’s first offensive possession he plans on reaching every single incentive in his new contract this season, if he can stay healthy, he will. Zach Ertz is currently the best receiver on the Eagles and I think he is a highlight for them on opening night this Thursday. Tyler Eifert is welcomed back with a week 1 TD from Andy Dalton, and other guys who score week 1 are Njoku, Graham, Olsen and Walker.

The team playing the Browns is no longer an auto start in 2018, but Pittsburgh is usable as is Cleveland in a game I think that has a couple of turnovers on both sides. Baltimore is a LOCK against Nate Peterman and the Bills. Great streaming options are Detroit, Tennessee, and Cincinnati.
