Wide Receiver Rankings: Fantasy Football 2018

While the volatility of Running Backs seems to keep us on our toes as fantasy players wide receivers tend to do the exact opposite, they remain constant and valuable. If you don’t believe that, take a quick look at the contract Odell Beckham Jr. signed yesterday!

Wide Receivers always tend to be a little easier to predict and the top overall guys are a bit more consistent year to year; Antonio Brown has been the PPR WR#1 in points for the last 4 years in a row…4. It is also a position that lends its self to depth, useable WRs can always be found in the later rounds and even sometimes off of waivers; Robby Anderson was barley drafted last year and finished as PPR WR#18 and rookie Juju Smith-Schuester finished as PPR WR #23. Prior to that you could of had undrafted Tyrell Williams who finished as the PPR WR#18 in 2016.

One of the oldest fantasy expressions is you can’t win a league at the draft, but you can lose it. I have always found not locking in at least 1 stud WR is a good way to lose it for sure. If you want to skew RB heavy then still grab at least 1 of the top 5 guys if you can and fill in your WR2/3/flex with upside WRs in the mid to later rounds if you like. I am telling you though, getting 1 or 2 top 20 guys in the first 4 rounds will provide you with more reliable production and that is a good way to win a lot of games in the fantasy season.

There is not really much else to say about the position, This is a great year to get a top RB in the first 2 rounds and then stock up on elite WRs and take high upside shots at RB in the mid/later rounds I think. If I can get out of round 3 with a top 8 RB and A.J. Green, Keenan Allen, Julio Jones, Stefon Diggs, or Tyreek Hill, I am going to be ecstatic! So get out there and try to catch em all fantasy fans!
